Tuesday October 22

Today we went first to Dunkin Donuts with Lauren and Agustin and then we went downtown. There we went to the Science Museum, Planetarium and finally the Aquarium. It was a good day because it had my two favourite things: the sea and the sky. I bought some presents for my aunt, best friend and father. It was very funny, i hope they like it. After going downtown we drove our way home and then we went out with the O'Neil family to have dinner. We went to The Patio and i order chicken but i also shared it with Mary. Then we ordered some ribs with potatoes. I love it :)

Monday October 21

Today we went all the argentinians downtown to Navy Pier. There we had lunch and went also to a gift shop to buy some presents for our families. After Navy Pier we went to Michigan Av. for shopping. We stayed there for only an hour and then we went to a boat trip across the Michigan Lake. It was awesome, i took lot of cool pictures. Some of the city, some of the lake and friends.

Sunday October 20

We woke up and went to the nature centre to take some great pictures with my new camera. I love it. There were lot of waterfalls and birds flying over us. We drove there with Lauren, David and two of his friends. After that we went to have frozen yoghurt. I like it soooo much. I ate it with lot of different toppings like chips of chocolate and some strawberries. We went to church and the mass was also in spanish so i understood everything! After the mass we had pizza all together at Jordan aunt's house. Then we all wanted to go to the haunted ride so we did it, and we had so much fun there. Finally we went to Sara's house and we played lot of games there. I went without Lauren because she had lot of homework to do and i missed her so much jajaja

Saturday October 19

In the morning Mary (Laurens's mum) and i went to a mall to look for my camera and a i got it. I love it so much, it's awesome! First we went to a bakery to look for some donuts and then we went to starbucks to get a coffee. After that we went to the Marist's school to wait for the bus and go downtown. There we went to the Skydeck tower and took some great pictures of the city. Then we went to Forever XXI to go shopping, i bought thousand of things! After going shopping, Mary took us to the House of Blues where The Maine was going to play. I liked them veeeeery much, i had so much fun there with Laurens's friends! <3

Friday October 18

This day was a very "sporty" day haahaha. First we had normal classes but then after school we gathered all together on the gym to watch a soccer game between argentinians and americans. The game resulted in a tie. (8 - 8) Anyway, we had a very good time. After the game we had to go veeeery quickly to Lauren's house because we had to come back again to have the asado on the cafeteria. Luckily, everyone liked the barbecue but what they liked the most was the chorizo and ribs. Finally after having dinner all together we went outside to watch the football americano game. Although it was very cold outside, we had a lot of fun there dancing and shouting. And yes, of course we won :) After the game we went to Anna's (Clara's host) and we sat all together around a campfire. A good day

Thursday October 17

Today the seniors had a special class with a man who works as an exorcist. I had a lot of fun listening to that class because it was different. First he explained to us the demon's origin and then he answered the questions that the seniors had. The weather helped a lot with the atmosphere. Yes, it was raining! Then after the special class we continued with our normal classes. But after that, we gathered all together in the gym to learn about football americano and how to play (how to throw the ball and how to catch it) Finally, we went home and prepared to go to Maggie's house. We had a good time all together! Also, before going there, i skyped with my mum, grandmother, and with my argentinisn best friend, Cata.

Today, we went to the city for the first time! It was so big. We went to the Field Museum, Millennium Park, and the Cultural Center. The park was my favorite part because it was so beautiful contained many things. In the park was the bean and fountains. I loved to walk around and see the city. After we went downtown, we had lunch at school and Lauren came to get me. We went to the library for an hour and I met some more of her friends. Everyone was so nice again today! After waiting there, we went to the theater and I watched her dance rehearsal. She was doing lyrical dance and it was very good. I laughed at some things because she was making up the dance during the rehearsal. We also watched some hip hop dance. Then, we went home and got ready for the basketball game. We went downtown to see the Chicago Bulls play in the United Center! It was so cool, and the stadium was so big. Marcos and Sarah were also at the game, and we had a fun time walking around the stadium. The Bulls won the game, and I had a very fun night. 

 

Tuesday, October 15th

My first day of school was awesome! We first had breakfast all together and the introduced ourselves. That was good because we now know each other much better. Then Mr. Tucker, the school principal, presented us with Marist t-shirts. Then we got a school ID with our picture to use for lunches in the cafeteria.  We then went with our hosts to their classes all day.  I enjoyed choir class the most where I laughed with Marcos and Francisco.  I was very surprised how quiet the classrooms are.  The teacher talks and talks while the students just listen, which is a different experience for me.  After school we went shopping with Mrs O'Neil. I was so excited to buy my new iphone!  I chose the blue one,the  iphone 5C.  While we were shopping Lauren told us that there was a gathering of the students. So, sadly, we left the shopping center and drove to Hannah's house. I enjoyed some new foods today, including peanut butter and a pizza with spicy pepperoni, sausage, bacon and beef. We brought David, Lauren's 14 year old brother,along to the party.  We all had a good time together and we are all very excited about going downtown tomorrow.

Monday, October 14

Today we went shopping at the Lighthouse Outlet Mall. I enjoyed going on the yellow bus with all of my friends and their hosts. We had a good time there and we spent a lot of money on clothes and shoes. We had been driving for a little while when Camila realized that she forgot her purse. Finally, we got back to Marist about an hour and a half late. Then, we watched a little bit of soccer at the school and met many students. They were very cool and welcoming! When we left school we had dinner at Lauren's house and then i went to sleep. It was a long and tiring journey :)

Sunday October 13, 2013

Today was my first day here. The plane ride was long but I slept for three hours. First I went to Miami and then to Chicago. When I arrived, I was so excited that I forgot about my exhaustion. My host and her mother were holding a sign that said 'Welcome Cami' at Marist. That was a good start to the day. We left Marist quickly and first stopped at Starbucks, feeling like home. Next, we went to a place called "Lake Katherine". There we walked around a big lake and we jumped rocks on the top of a waterfall. The park was very pretty and it was nice to walk around. After there, we went to her home and I met the rest of her family. I felt comfortable the whole day. I gave them the gifts that I brought from home and they loved them. We soon took a walk to the park right by her house and walked around the neighborhood. After that, we went to the supermarket and bought some food for dinner and the week. There was a lot of food there that I didn't know. When we got home, we got ready for church. This is the place that she goes to and sings at every week. The church had the same structure and I understood all of what was said. I met a priest who talked to me about the Pope, and he was very nice. After church, we went home and had dinner with her family. Then, her friends Chloe and Jim came over to listen to music and watch a movie. Chloe went to Argentina last year, so it was nice to talk to her about home. The movie we watched was filmed in Chicago and it got me really excited to go to the city! I'm really having a good time and I can't wait to get some sleep and go shopping tomorrow! See you soon.
